Annecy 2022: il Premio Cristal a Little Nicholas, Premio della Giuria a No dogs or Italians allowed
Little Nicholas – Happy As Can Be si è aggiudicato il Premio Cristal all’edizione 2022 del Festival di Annecy. Battendo i favoriti Unicorn Wars; Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman; e Nayola del portoghese José Miguel Ribeiro.

Diretto da Benjamin Massoubre e Amandine Fredon, realizzato in 2D, il film francese è basato sul fumetto scritto da René Goscinny e disegnato da Jean-Jacques Sempé.
Il film è prodotto da Aton Soumache (Il piccolo principe) e dalla lussemburghese Bidibul Productions.
I precedenti vincitori del premio, Flee (2021) e Dov’è il mio corpo? (2019) hanno ricevuto una nomination agli Oscar.
La pellicola in stop-motion No dogs or Italians allowed (Manodopera), una co-produzione Francia/Italia/Svizzera diretta dal francese Alain Ughetto, ha vinto il Premio della Giuria e il Premio della Fondazione GAN.
Jean-François le Corre, produttore di Vivement lundi!, ha dichiarato:
“Il film, che abbiamo terminato tre settimane prima dell’inizio del festival, è stato proiettato per la prima volta martedì (14 giugno) ad Annecy. La stampa l’ha apprezzato molto e abbiamo avuto la sensazione che il film fosse sempre più discusso con il passare della settimana. C’è stata una standing ovation ad ogni proiezione”.
My Love Affair With Marriage, il film sul ruolo di genere di Signe Baumane, ha ottenuto una menzione dalla Giuria.
Blind Willow basato sui racconti di Haruki Murakami e realizzato con rotoscoping, 2D e 3D, ha ottenuto una menzione dalla giuria.
Annecy 2023: il paese d’onore è il Messico
Con un video messaggio Guillermo del Toro ha annunciato che il paese d’onore dell’edizione 2023 del Festial di Annecy sarà il Messico:
Jorge Gutiérrez, creatore di Maya and the Three, creerà il design del poster. Il direttore artistico del Festival Marcel Jean ha detto:
“L’animazione messicana è poco conosciuta e merita di essere valorizzata con una grande rassegna nazionale”.
